I look forward to your new pictures.  A dog who attracts more leaves than Hoss?  When a customer brought her lhasa apsos to the vet where my daughter works, my daughter saw leaves stuck to them too and just asked the owners if ALL lhasa apsos attracted leaves.  There is likely something politically incorrect about that .... look for a thread about the stereotype of lhasas and leaves  = )

Miss P doesn't sleep on my bed  lol  Where there is mud, there is Miss P; where there are leaves, there is Hoss.  Why do leaves stick to lhasa apsos?  One of the great questions of the universe.  A free milkbone to anyone who can answer it.  More   sayings about Akitas and shih tzus later - wait a minute, Akitas are perfect  hehehehe  = )

Thank you Ginger for your kind words, sorry I haven't replied sooner but with being new I've only just realised I'd got 2messages from you,I was brave although I don't and didn't feel it-I felt and still feel awful at having said goodbye to Kim but I know deep in my heart that it was the right thing to do,I was going to wait till after xmas and give her one last good xmas but that was being selfish. again thanks for your kind words xxx

21 SAS is Territorial Army. 22's the Army ~ You'll see he's never been in THE SAS. Wonder what you do for a living? My CV's on my profile on site ~ a basic one anyway. Feel free to ask any questions you'd like answered. Hope your Dog's OK?
Got all the gear loaded onto my bike ready to go camping in morning, will just go overnight as I'm needed at home. I go about once a month, just to get a change of scene. It's interesting to make overnight walks, I sometimes do it alone, from the coast to home. about 33 miles. Alone/with friends. Am entered for next year's Nijmegen 4 day marches. www.4Daagse.nl Perhaps it would appeal to you? 4 X 40 km a day for 4 days.Wonderful atmosphere. Best wishes, George

My wife's Dutch & can translate German OK. I've several of his books & he's done much more than any man I know of in the way of adventure. Perhaps if you Google him you'll find out more, not sure if he's got English on his site, but you'll see some of the details ~ I'll check later to see  his site details. Once when he was going to cross the Atlantic (with an attractive young girl) I wrote & ventured that he'd not leave the Elbe on it. He crossed the Atlantic & took it on to Washington. Not been in contact for a long time. Will contact him now. B.Grylls ~ only in TA SAS. I know too well what manic is! As you'll see from my profile I'm an old goat, but still like to do what I can when I can. Best wishes. George.

Hi Ginger, thanks for your notes.Never used ice to make fire, but seen it done on U Tube or similar.Arctic Explorers also used it as a novelty ie William Scoresby of Whitby, a Whaling Captain in the 1800s. Ray Mears is a good 'Presenter', but he looks far too fat & looks like he's never missed a meal? His qualification as I understand it was 'that he was interested in Indians as a child. Many of the 'Survival Experts' claim that they served in Special Forces etc when it just ain't true.A German called Rudiger Nehberg's the real item. Unfortunately his books are only available in German, but very good reading.Black Holes etc are fascinating. The phenomena whereby a star of immense volume can be collapsed into an OXO cube weighing millions of tons is beyond my understanding.Bye for now,George

Just a quick note to say hi! Survival techniques? When will you need them in our society? The NHS will do it's bit to keep you alive ~ if you are lucky. Do you eat 'roadkills' go to remote places/collect the latest gizmos from rip-off survival shops?Hope not. Astronomy, are you able to navigate by the stars?Navigation without instruments has been a long standing study for me. Making Solar Compasses from Cornflake packets etc when in Arctic etc, but that was to fix my position.Exact time's no longer a problem, provided you have a radio/radio controlled clock/watch. I'd be interested to know which aspects of astronomy you're interested in. Good Hunting, George
