Just a quick note to say hi! So is that Yuk feeling going away? I am so looking forward to feeling better. I keep telling myself that after this weekend of recovery from the shot I'll only get better. It has been a long haul for us both and we're on our way to whatever our normal will be! I'm hoping for more energy soon. Great to hear from you!

Hey, I'm glad you went for it and didn't get swayed into doing something against doctor's advice!  Your hgb should be starting to come up a tiny bit and making you feel a little better.  HGB rises real steadily, everything else is slower.  Watch for interferon mood backlash about 2 weeks after stopping (my PA warned me and I waited to start reducing the AD until I was past that point).  Also watch for other goofball things in the next few months that are NOT real, just interferon still messing with systems that it altered a little over the long TX period.  Best of all, your hair will completely stop falling out after a few months.  Boy that shows how vain I am to see that as 'best of all".   Look forward to feeling better; you made it.

I will, that's no problem.

Why are you nervous about the two weeks? Were you a late responder?

The 48 is a number more or less pulled out of the air.  I treated for 7 mos. in a study and really wished I'd stopped at 6 (I certainly could have; I cleared at 1 week and was on a PI) because that last month was when all the worst interferon side effects occurred.  That was over 4 months ago and all sides have cleared up since then.  I cringe every time I see someone ignoring their doctor's safety advice.  It's horrible to read the posts of people who ignored orders and developed terrible permanent IFN damage.  You have to brainwash yourself with all that 'kill the dragon' junk at the beginning, but at a certain point logic needs to kick back in.  Enjoy your recovery from chemo!

This is my 3 1/2 month report: Treatment is tough, but manageble. 4 week result tommorow. Will post results. Sleep is # 1 concern (Taking Ambien). Hemoglobin staying steady(around 13) WBC and RBC have been out of range most of tratment, along with hematocrit, mch, platelet count, lymphocytes, and absolute neutrophil. Thyroid Stimulating Hormone test came back normal, Liver tests have shoul gradual decreasing levels the past three months to the normal range, last test result for liver enzymes showed slightly elevated levels of ALT-78 and AST-63 , I wonder if that is from the increased amount of tylenol? Will see Doc Tuesday. Hope you are doing great.

I feel SO much better getting it cut and surprisingly wasn't nervous at all. The last couple of weeks , it's been horrible from both the meds and my thyroid going hypo. It was falling out like crazy and what was left, was like straw..horrid! I still like my hats I've been collecting and wearing..... and have broken into my vintage jewelry to jazz them up a bit. Also took to wearing earrings again, the danglier the better. I'm kinda having fun with it all....might as well make the most of this.

Good to hear from you...Hang in there ! Pam

Hi Yuk,
I smile whenever I see your name.
Thanks for replying to my post about the health care fiasco. I can't find the post anymore, I figured medhelp would pull it after my post last night.

I checked factcheck.org for info. and got a very general view, too wide and general.

Good luck with tx~ keep smiling.

Thanks for your note.  I'm very blessed to have a good treatment team.   It seems that some folks have to struggle w/their Dr. on top of everything else!  Good luck to you, too. I think you'll be done sometime in Oct???   Take care.

I don't journal too much here anymore cuz I had a couple going at the same time, so now I just update my blog...the link is in my profile. Got so I was writing the same thing over and over. Should be an interesting household for you for a while. Hoping you both reach SVR !!! Pam

Noticed from your profile that you and my husband are almost on the same timeline (he's taking shot #24 tonight)!  Hope you're hanging in there ok!  (And if you're still rashing, don't be shy about asking the doc if he can give you something to make you more comfortable -- this treatment is hard enough without all the skin discomfort!) Best wishes.

My goal is to get the help we as first responders are promised by law. atahat is a hard road the state insurers are pushing it aside. how many have come before me in this state of Georgia we need help. Hi Yuk, yes they test thyroid once a month but I am going to have private doctor call trial nurse to try to get it tested every 2 weeks.  Had they of tested 2 weeks ago I would not be feeling like this today.  I should feel better by the weekend.

Hi YuK,

Hope your 10th shot leaves you feeling as good as the last one. I kinda get "superstitious" about my routine as long as I'm feeling good and don't vary anything too much, even though it's probably just because it's early in tx more than anything. Whatever it is , I'll take it!

Good luck to you during the rest of your journey........Pam
