Hi Sandra thanks for the concern. Jake is still alive by God's grace but will not eat anything for the past several days except for a morsel here and there. Tried everything. force feeding him 2 cans of Hill's prescription diet for dogs and cats(1/4 can every 2 hours), each can has 180 KCalories. Giving him all his meds and the holistic meds as well. walks shakily, pees OK and sleeps a lot.Still getting SQ 200cc every 12 hours. I pray to God a lot and just want him to die easily if that is His will.
I am questioning myself about this: forcefeeding/ dissolving meds in water after crushing them and the dripping them in his mouth with a syringe several times a day? Is this right? We do it all the time to humans.
Give me your input and thanks again.
God bless
Shari
Am I overdoing it?

There's a new post today about Cushing's and alternative treatments which could help anyone who lives in NY (don't know if that's NY City or state) But thought you might like to know, and read it? Hugs. Ginger ;-)

You told me to take some more pictures of the puppies and to let you know when I did. :) Well, I just took some today after they got their 1st haircut if you want to see. They look so cute. :)

You are in my thoughts and prayers. How is Julie now? Has there been any improvement? I feel for you, with all this worry about her. I hope you are ok

I put a reply on your post. Unfortunately I don't know much about Prednisone or Cushing's really, but hope you get some help from the other answers. I am SO sorry you and little Julie are going through all of this! It is such a worry, I know. God bless you, and help you through all this.
Take care. Ginger

You deserve a big bear hug! Hi Sandra I'm not sure why you left me a note. I joined this site for my health reasons. My dog ** passed away last summer, I will never get over her. I am very lucky though to have 2 beautiful cats that live with me. I did respond to your post. I wish you the very best.

Thanks, Sandra, for the advice. I'm sure Benny is doing the same thing your poodle does. He seems fine, otherwise, and it's good to hear someone else knows what I'm talking about. I hope your poodle is doing better. Marg444

I just read your post about your doggie having pancreatitis. I just posted about mine having it. I wanted you to know your post helped me a lot, helps to know others are in the same boat. I would have posted directly under yours, but already I did that with another pancreas post, and didn't want to keep bumping up ALL those! Glad to get info on it, and glad everyone is so willing to share here about this problem. GG (ggreg)

Hi Sandra. Cleo is doing great. We live on the Yakima River, but its so swift and full from the mountain snows melting into, that I have to drive her to the Columbia River for her swims. But she really enjoys swimming- as strong a swimmer as she ever was. I just made her a little swim suit with an enclosed leg sewn in so that her little stump is protected. 'Not much of a seamstress, but it works. I have her wear it under a life jacket. When she's swimming you can see her use her little stump leg just as though her whole leg is still attached. Very cute. And she likes to "shake a paw" with her little stump leg as well. Thanks for your note. How are your babies doing?

Thanks, Sandra. Cleo's little leg/stump is finally scab-free, and ready to rock and roll. I've had the hardest time finding her a swim vest that is worthwhile. I love the Ruff Wear products, but she has such a big strong chest/neck from swimming all her life, it puts her in between size Large and XL, since she doesn't have the body length to match. There is actually a 2.5 inch gap between the closing flap points at neck, (that are supposed to overlap with velcro) but the Ruff Wear people told me its fine as long as the overlay neck strap closures fit together, which they do. But, I think I can use parts of an old swim vest to sew into the gap. So, tommorow is the big day. Taking our little girl out on the boat and teaching her to swim as a 3-legged dog. We're taking video/camera.

You deserve a big bear hug! I am so glad to hear about the good results you've had with Trilostane, and that your Julie is much better. That is a great blessing. Give her a kiss from me!

Hi Sandra,
'Just tried to write back but had a sign-in problem... can never remember passwords. Why do they even require passwords? They know my e-mail address and user name.... ok, I realize a burgler probably could have broke into my house tonight and then turned on my computer to get into my dog chat forum if I had gone to bed early... (so, thank GOODNESS for top security measures on the dog chat).... haha, just having fun. Cleo's doing good. I'm putting in an order for a swim vest and a swim boot for her tomorrow, as her suture line will all be healed and closed within the week. I'm so excited to get her back into the water...the love of her life. Write again, OK. Thanks for caring, Sandra. love, Jill

Hi, just sending good thoughts your way. Keep fighting for your girl and I will include her in my thoughts. Thanks for the comments on my pictures and note on the forum I posted. It's been hard, but I have managed to focus on the joy she brought me while she was here. Hang in there and let me know if I can help you in any way.

Just a quick note to say hi! And thank you so much for the friendship invitation!
I am so sorry to hear of your worry and troubles with your little Julie. I do not know a great deal either about Cushing's, or about Kidney disease, and wish there was more I could do to help. I will send you and your little one a prayer, for there to be a good solution to the problem. Take care. Ginger

Just a quick note to say hi! just read your note. i read your post and what the person wrote you is true...but i do not trust turkey at all. my dog too almost died...she was in the hospital 3 days with ivs. she wouldn t drink, eat and wanted to be isolated from us...i knew something was wrong. we had fixed her a big plate for turkey day and the 2 days later she was so sick..she has passed since age 16....i guess in small amounts people food is okay except for onions...i never knew that either. just keep an eye on your poodle for symptoms i mentioned...good luck and let me know how he/she is..thanks for the invite...maria
