Shannon79 BH will be erratic and inconsistent. So try timing them. If there's no real pattern to them, then it's your body getting prepared. There's nothing you can do to help ease them either. I'm sure you probably already know this. But when you're in a "panic"

KTowne Ohh no that's not too early, mine started about 27 weeks with Chloe, and she was full term! I wouldn't worry unless they become painful or timeable!

heather727 I had peri-labor with Alicia for about 4-5 weeks. They were basically regular BH contractions. They just didn't dialate me. The second time around seems to be more volitile for some. I don't think you have anything to worry about, just mention it to your MW at the next appointment.

BH are coming thick & fast! Also wanted any advice from 2nd time mums b'fing with another young child? Nov 17 - 3
1742167_tn?1416504001
heather727 When Alicia was born, Jared was 5. At first he didn't have any issues with me BFing. Then a few weeks in he would tell me 'that baby isn't hungry, mommy.'

With this one, it's a little tougher. Alicia tries to crawl all over me while I'm nursing. Zaber has taken a few knocks to the head from her. It also gets a little tricky if he needs to nurse when it's time for her to go to bed.

My advice is to take it one day at a time - sometimes an hour at a time.

zara2010 Thanks Heather! Ryan still needs alot of things done for him by mummy (me) and Im worrying how I will find time to feed on demand - thats if even I can get past 24hrs of b'fing cuase I didnt with Ryan. Im not making any decisions right now just like you say take it as it comes - if it works then happy days! I know the small age gap will be difficult but if b'fing will make it even harder I dont think Im willing to do it as I know Ryan was fine being bottle fed x

heather727 I will add that it's a lot faster to get a boob ready than a bottle. And since you'd have to find time to feed the new baby a bottle, it's not that much different than breastfeeding. True, you can't hand off breastfeeding for DH to help with, but he can step in and help with Ryan when you need to.

If you do decide to nurse, I highly suggest downloading a breastfeeding app to your smart phone. I have one that keeps track of how long I've nurse and one which side. It's great because I can never remember which boob I left off on! It also give me an easy way to track and see if he's making any kind of a pattern to his feeding schedule yet.
