About Me: Female, 58, Las Vegas, NV, member since Nov 2010
Completed TX April 2011.. UND for approx. 8 weeks end of TX, but HCV back again. Liver impacted by TX. My observation. Signed up with UCSD for Liver Transplant. New TX not an option for about 3 yrs, but success rare will be better then. Now with Liver Specialist in
[More] Transplant, Dr. Gish, and tx have changed. Should have started with removal of antibodies BEFORE tx and thus eliminated most of the itching issues that caused me to stop TX early.
2010 Profile: Contracted HCV through transfusions due to car accident/mult surgeries in 1972. Diagnosed with all Other Heps until this decade, when they committed to Hep C. 38 Yrs infected. No other health issues. Enzymes always ran high, but felt great. 2002 began decline of platelets. 2010 is first time I fully understood need for Treatment. CAT and Sonogram indicate Cirrhosis, but Biopsy shows Stage 3, Geno 2b.

Just a quick note to say hi and say that I hope your holidays are good and that you feel good enough to enjoy them. I sometimes feel like a heel because i am not going through the things that all of you are. And a little guilty that during your illness I am asking for your help. But I think that the people like Candace and you are the reason I have started all of this. You dont have time to do the things that I can. I am amazed at the number of people out there that did get Hep C from blood. But I am still going to fight this. Didnt mean to get on my soapbox again. I just wish for you the BEST Christmas ever. You are all always in my thoughts and prayers. MERRY CHRISTMAS.
