About Me: Female, 31, Fontana, CA, member since Mar 2011
I am a 28 year old women who's only desire and dream is to become a Mother. I am looking to give, as well as receive, support from those who can relate and are in similar situations.I have been TTC for close to 9 years. 7 of those years were with my ex husband and the o
[More]ther have been with my boyfriend. However, I just recently started infertility treatment in March of 2011 to find answers. I started off with an HSG and my tubes are fine, we had my Boyfriend's swimmers checked and they are good, I tried Clomid for 3 months and no luck, then I had endometrial polyp removed on 8-1-11 and have not had any actual treatment since then. However, I have experienced different things in-between time if you feel like reading my journals ;).
On the assumption that annovulation was our problem, we decided that we would go straight for a medicated IUI cycle when beginning to try this year in 2012. We did our very first IUI cycle on 3-8-12 which was unsuccessful. When I went for my CD 2 baseline u/s on 3-22-12 for the next cycle, the doctor noticed 2 residual cyst on my right ovary and 1 on the left but assured me that they were from the Clomid from the previous cycle. She also stated that I should have blood work done to check my AMH hormone.
Today 3-26-12 I found out my results and my AMH levels are very low :(. This is a bad sign considering I am not even 28 years old. It means that I basically have poor ovarian reserve. So our only hope is IVF and we must move quickly, so we will be doing our first IVF in July. Until then, my doc has me taking a DHEA Supplement, 3 times a day for 2 months. This has been know to help women retrieve more eggs on the day of retrieval. I pray this works! It is our ONLY hope!!
It took me to go through all of this testing and even through failed Clomid cycles and one IUI Clomid cycle for them to finally decide to have those AMH levels checked. All it took was one simple blood test to diagnose me.
IVF Cycle started June 30th, did 12 days of injections, had Egg Retrieval on July 14th, Did the Embryo Transfer on July 18th and Just got a BFP on July 26th! I am living proof that it CAN happen if you don't give up! Never give up!!
I hope this helps anyone who has had similar experiences and have not found out why their treatment hasn't worked. Maybe all it will take is a simple blood test.
