About Me: Female, 45, Sheffield, United Kingdom, member since Jun 2011
I am 40 years old, currently in Rehab for alcoholism. I was diagnosed with Acute Alcoholic Hepatitis in July 2010, and the Doctors didn't think I would make it. By
[More] some miracle, I pulled through, with the help of predisolone. I was discharged from the hospital in February 2011, and was told me liver had returned to normal, with no detrimental effect, and no shortening of my life span - I was VERY lucky.
When I go back to work (in August, after leaving rehab), I will return to being a Company Secretary for my Husband's business, and also resume my own business, as I am an artist and noveliest. I feel I have my life back, and don't take anything for granted any more, least of all my health. The near-death experience was the shock I needed to sort my life out. I hope it remains that way - I haven't touched a drop of alcohol in 11 months, and don't ever intend to touch it again. Why would I want to drink something that nearly killed me?!!!
