sorry you had a crappy time too, but glad it wasn't just me! I did have my bed changed, but not my gown which was soaked in blood! I didn't get the offer of help to wash, bath or shower at all! Catheter was only painful going in because the dam nurse didn't like doing catheters and was all flustered and after 3 attempts finally got someone who knew what they were doing! That will be so wrong if they could have drained it rather than putting you through all that! Take care and here's to speedy peaceful recoveries at home with the help of our men! P.s I bet you were going mad through sleep deprivation the amount of nights you were in!!
So basically, my op was a success, but the before and after care has been shockingly bad! My advice, never agree to surgery on a weekend, because your not being looked after by a proper surgical team on a surgical ward! Wow I feel better for getting it off my chest, I bet you wished you'd never asked now haha! I should be on the mend by now, but still feel bleugh! I don't like to complain, but once I've got the energy I will put in a complaint about the complete lack of care and consideration! I dread to think what state I would be in now if my surgery had been as complicated as yours! Have you had your histology report yet? (sorry it's in loads of post there's a 800 word limit!
Friday I had to go back to hospital, thankfully my bladder was working fine now...again complete lack of confidentiality! Got home Friday and my GP rang to say there was a prescription waiting for me for my infection. i explained I'd already been given something from the hospital and they said it was something different I needed to take both. Thought it a bit strange, because when I googled them, they were both for the same thing. I felt quite perky Friday until I took the 2 different antibiotics, then went downhill again quite fast! This morning I was really ill and throwing up, so my hubby took my pills to the pharmacy to ask if I should be on both! Pharmacy horrified I was taking both and said no wonder I was ill, one lots strong enough, but two! to be continued..
That night I had to be sedated because I was crying hysterically due to exhaustion and the continual noise! Monday morning they said I still couldn't go home, but I refused to stay a minute longer and called my husband to get me and I was sent home with the catheter still in! Felt so much better Tuesday morning waking up to hear my baby saying mama in his cot, but unfortunately I collapsed, scaring my hubby half to death, so had to get the doctor out: result I had a mild urine infection. Wednesday back to the hospital to have catheter out, was there for 8 hours because my bladder wasn't draining properly, diagnosis: serious urine infection and antibiotics prescribed. Complete lack of confidentiality, I think half of Devon knows about my toilet habits! Thursday I slept all day! to be cont
