About Me: Female, 38, member since Jan 2009

I have been married for almost 18 yrs and we have 3 boys. We have lived in many many different places and finally have a home of our own. I am blunt,honest and sarcastic. A few years ago I had gastric surgery by one of the leading Surgeons in the military there were com ... [More] plications and my entire stomach was removed. I knew that there would be some pain with eating but never imagined just how much with no stomach and no acid to help digest my food before it went into my intestines. i withstood the pain and would go 5 to 10 days with no food because it hurt so bad. when we moved my Dr and my gastric Dr decided that i was going to have to go on pain meds in order to eat and maintain nutrients. I aso have to take shots with lots of different vitamins to help me out. they started me with percocet and moved me up and up on those till we moved to a patch called fentanyl(like morphine). i had to change patches every three days and on the day for a new patch it made me sick and very very tired i just could not function. so i decided i would deal with the pain and come off when i did i was never told about addiction to the medication and i went through withdrawls that i wish upon no one the pain was just unbearable. once i made it through that then i hurt my ankle and well more percocet my husband helped ween me off but then not even a month later sever shoulder injury once again percocet. he is now helping me get off of them due to he get an overwhelming amount due to his injuries he got in iraq. not to mention he does not like the person i become when i am going through withdrawls i become a b@#ch among all. I am looking now at getting two surgeries very close together and the surgeries do not scare me as much as the medication does. I also have OCD so that does not help matters much. So what do I do?? I am tired of withdrawls but I am tired of being in pain i mean eating to me is like eating a bowl full of nails and tacks and when it hurts me to bad it comes back out not due to me making it come out but i supposemy body is tired of hurting to and that is the only way it will stop. we have come to a point that the medication is locked up and he is the only one that holds the key and if medication is needed one of our boys get it for me to give to him. they are teens and understand everything what i have been through because i am honest and i want them understand the pain and fustration that comes along with any type of addiction. as a matter of fact our oldest will be 18 this year. wow... ohh and please if someone could help walk me through this site and explain how to do things like the sent msg i would appreciate it because i am computer illiterate... have a nice day and thank you for reading my story.....Terrysa [Less]

Just got back online and had a chance to check my stuff. You dont know how much your simple thank you for Nam days meant. I have experiences I should tell you about at length sometime. But today I hope we have learned...I do think so. Then the Troops were pretty well blamed for the stupid war. I was jumped by a couple young cute Hare Krishnas in Atlantas airport during transit....long story. Today the people seem to understand that the warrior shouldnt be blamed for the war. Peace is actually their profession. My best to you and yours..I have my puter back now ... lets talk? - - eagle

Bless your heart. You have been thru bthe wringer, thats for sure. BUT, you have come to a wonderful place. All these people here have helped me so much. I am 2 months off tramadol.
