I am glad to hear you got a second opinion and a PT referral as well. I had PT for the first time yesterday and am quite sore today and have been doing a lot of icing (basically sticking an icebag on my crotch!). My PT is wonderful she specializes in pelvic floor disorders. She actually did massage around areas that I didn't even think were in spasm and also did internal muscle release. We figured out I have been guarding since I have had surgery in a "kegal-like" posture which has caused me tension and spasm and also low back pain and thigh pain. I am really hoping this is the "magic bullet". I have read about nerve blocks and botox injection and am seriously starting to think this is not a bad idea. Stay in touch and good luck!
Thanks for the post. I just paged my surgeon and she is starting me on amytripiline (antidepressant/pain reliever) to take at night and just called in some vicodan. I will start physical therapy with a specialist that deals specifically with pelvic floor muscle spasm (this is what I am suffering from). Has you doctor mentioned PT to you or referral to a pain clinic? Pain is horrible and seems to snowball if it isn't under control. Don't give up!
Thanks for the note. I did not have tape, I had a mesh sling. I was reading that some patients can reject the sling or tape. I am afraid to have it removed as I read it is more risky. I told my surgeons nurse that I am recovering slower then the average person to that they should recognize that and not ignore me as the "troubled patient". They won't give me anything stronger then Motrin. I can deal with this, but towards the end of the day I am pretty miserable.
I have decided to try and mediate and accept this new foriegn body and try to allow my body to accept it. I hope this will help, I really need to keep going in my life with my normal activites and put this into the hands of God.
