Mood: Serafina111
wondering if the pain meds could make symptoms worse
About Me: Female, MN, member since Jul 2008
I hurt most all the time.I have recently been diagnosed with RSD. I have had chronic pain for several years, and was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia about ten years ago. I have scoliosis that went undiagnosed until radiographs following a bad fall from a horse at age sixteen ... [More] revealed it, although the skull fracture I recieved from that fall was not recognized until years later.(Suffice it to say that emergency medicine has come miles since then...but even then, it was a grave oversight) I had several injuries as a child and young adult, which may or may not have contributed to the low back pain I suffered for years...(finally finding some relief in early 2000 with Prolo-Therapy(or 'Proliferation Therapy'; involving many hundreds of injections of a small amount of saline and dextrose,or calcium, in my case, since i reacted to the dextrose) directly into the painful areas of the back)....(I'm updating this history, but have to leave it as is for the time being...sorry it's not very cohesive as yet!!)********* the worst pain started suddenly in August of '07. This sometimes agonizing pain involves my hands, wrists, knees, ankles, left hip, feet, low back, sternum, collar-bone,upper back and shins.I am an Author/Illustrator with several best-sellers on the market,a Singer/Songwriter with a CD of original tunes in process, and I'm also a part-time Photographer. I own and live on a horse farm, but as much as I love the horses, I have had to relinquish management of the farm to someone else, due to my health issues. Most of the horses and ponies were rescue cases from years ago, although some are showing in upper level dressage, and in Pinto and other breed shows, and one will be competing in Team Penning and Roping soon, just to try something different. I trained and rode for years, including training my big Lippizan/Paint gelding as a police mount. The best time of my life has been working in Law Enforcement, and I miss the time I had as a police officer. I had hoped to combine my degree in Psychology with experience as a Police Officer and eventually go into Forensics, but my health has kept me from it. I'm single and have never been married. I have no children. My dogs keep me company on the farm.I appreciate humor and intelligent conversation, and I'm always picking up rocks,as I find geology fascinating.I love to root around looking for particularly funky antiques and 'found art'. I hope to travel to Ireland to explore my roots one day.I love        trains,(learned to walk on one, which is my excuse for walking funny),and I miss the  ocean, which I haven't seen in twenty six years.Over the past year and a few months, I've lost 180 pounds(no surgery), and have started riding horses again. Mood: Toomanyadvil feeling so much batter since restarting my hydroxozine with my normal meds. Its unbelievable how a little anti-hystomine can do so much! I've actaully been able to go out two days in a row all day with friends! When I get home I'm not nearly in as much pain as usual. Still uncomfortable but nothing lik eit was. Now if I can just get my body used to being out all day after 3 years stuck inside most of the time. Nothing beats the feeling of being tired from a day out instead of being tired from the pain!
