About Me: Female, 47, Ayr - ON, member since Apr 2008
As the Co-Community Leader of both the Ovarian Cyst and Arthritis forums I am dedicated to helping others navigate their health issues while getting answers for my own problems too.  I am the mother of a grown son (living at home for the time being) and am in my 2nd mar ... [More] riage for 13 years.

I had surgery June 6/08 to remove a cluster of multiple cysts that was grapefruit sized and had bled together from my right ovary.  Because of my previous bowel surgeries my gyn took a general surgeon in with him in case there were problems with my ileal pouch or the scar tissue.  We intended to do a total hysterectomy because of the risk of surgery to me but because scarring was so bad they only removed the cyst, the right ovary and tube using a vertical cut.  Very nervous about future issues with remaining ovary and uterus.  Looks like an ablation is in my future.

When I was 21 I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis and after suffering for 10 years my bowel perforated and I required emergency surgery to remove my large colon.  A year later I had a pelvic pouch created at Mt. Sinai in Toronto and have had great success with that.  My son has now been diagnosed with UC.

I am in the midst of finalizing my diagnosis of Lupus and am being treated with Plaquenil.  I am seeing results but we are trying to solve my iron deficiency anemia, pelvic pain and neurological issues so we can determine the next stage of treatment.  Glad that I am having more good days than bad but really want to get answers so I know what I am dealing with.

I work in the software industry and am fortunate to be able to work from my home office.  Cooking is my passion and I also love to do stained glass, read and take bubble baths! [Less]

Not sure although I would imagine there could be leftover blood from the surgery. Best to be safe and ask your doctor.

It is possible it could resolve itself so my fingers are crossed for you. What kind of cysts were your others?

I had her for a year and a half. Got her when she was 8 weeks old I believe. She was litter box trained. Thats one thing I love about bunnies is they catch on to it very well. I have pictures of her playing with Tikka but I cant find my camera cord so It will have to wait. She was small, lion head but it was more like just a big fluff ball all over. Brown on her back, smokey grey everywhere else and these huge lovable cheeks. She loved cuddling on her back like a baby.

Yeah, good news, no surgery for you! I am glad that you like your gastro doctor and feel good about their diagnosisl No sit-ups, oh too bad LOL I do them, but I hate them and I truly don't think it has made a bit of difference on me! Saw that you are going to Vancouver. I hope it won't be all business and that you can take some time to enjoy that beautiful city! Let us know how it was! Hugs, Colleen

Thanks Trudie! I'm sure the doctors will do their best...my mom has great confidence in their abilities, regardless of the outcome. Just gotta keep myself from second guessing...keep on living as best I can, which is what dad would want. Take care - Pip
