I had an c5-c7 fusion July, 2006, the feeling that you are having in your throat is not something you are imagining. I was told that it will go away but still to this day I have the same feeling even yarning is painful it feels like my neck has lock. Word of advice be assertive with your doctor this is not normal nor any other problems that you are experiencing pain is real and something is causing this, don't give up like I have. I got tired of hearing give it sometime after complaining for many months going thru every possible medical treatment they have non-invasive and invasive I will not continue to be their lab rat. Good look remember be assertive you have the right to know
