I am a board certified Otolaryngologist (ENT specialist). I have a general interest in diseases of the head and neck. I am also very interested in advocating for science-based medicine, debunking pseudoscience, and promoting critical thinking as it relates to patient
I have had this issue for the past several months. I will list my symptoms:
-Top of my nose has a bump, is sore to touch(sometimes) , sometimes hurts but not always
-I smell a weird odor in my nose that no one else smells
- my nose gets stuffy very easily
Thanks so much!

I have been reading your posts about smells in noses. I was recently diagnosed after I passed out in Mcdonalds with low TSH levels. Now I have this Rotten garlic, dirty sock smell in my nose. It is awful. Not to mention the headaches. What can I do to make this smell go away? I dont have insurance right now or I would go to the Dr. It makes me nauses and causes me not to sleep right. I could understand if I had a cold but I dont. Honestly this is close to the worst smell I have ever encountered. Also have begun to have dysphagia on a very frequent basis. Please give me the best advice you can as I cant afford to see a Dr at the moment . I greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
