You deserve a big bear hug!
My tumor was grape-sized, benign. Yes, went thru the neck, and developed a 'keloid' scar which needed scar reconstruction surgery. I was in-hospital one night, home next day. Recovery was very very painful, but not in the neck. Calcium went back to normal, so no need for calcium supplements. I do take Vitamin D, only due to deficiency/breast cancer (could have been a trigger for the cancer, as I was very deficient at the time of dx in 2006). Joint pain, hence, called: pseudogout, treated with anti-inflammatories for about a year. No relief in head pain, sleep, etc...bone density improved however. Now hyperparathyroid again, but with normal calcium, high PTH, so just wait-n-see for now. My surgeon was very well-known and I'd moved, so went back there to have her do the surgery-TTYL!
Good for you for not listening to endo when it doesn't feel right to wait the 3 months. I do the same thing. I get 2nd, 3rd even 4th opinions when warranted. I'm sorry you're already experiencing mild bone deficiency. You may want to ask the doctors about Boniva or Reclast if needed, as you are so very young to start having bone problems. You have your hands full enough without adding health issues like this! I have had the opposite, my calcium level has gone back to normal after parathyroidectomy in 2002 (9.2; 9.4), but PTH levels have varied greatly (from normal now, 47, to 787!! It was quite high for 2 years right after chemo/radiation. I feel radiation caused the spike, normal now. My parathyroid tumor was towards my left breast, not found on Sestamibi Scan, only thru surgery
Wrote too much in other PM to you (private message)...lol...wow, you sure have your hands full with your young ones~!! I don't expect a cure, just treatments. Better mindset that way. Please let me know how things go for you at Dr. Lupo's...(I believe he IS affiliated with Dr. Norman?) THX for your kind words...all my best...juli
