It's important I tell you your post changed my life. I was in serious pain for about 4 weeks- after I read this, it seemed like common sense. So I straightened up my posture and in a full day felt myself recovering. I had been to a chiropractor 3X (I'm not one to go to any medical source for help, but it was that bad), it helped loosen up my neck at that point, but really I was no better. Weeks later, after I read your post, I went walking pretending I had a band forcing my shoulders back and held my held up strong and felt as though my muscles were going back to how they should be. I just want to thank you, I'm so grateful I came across it in my random search for relief!
I read a few of your posts about pain caused by posture. I wanted to give affirmation to your diagnosis. I have been in chronic pain for 5+ years. I have had exhausted all other options. My symptoms started with a knot in my neck that progressed to such extreme and constant pain I have been unable to work. I have tried anti inflammatory medications, injections of all kinds in all possible locations (neck, shoulder, rhomboid, nerve root), I had a disectomy of C5-6, then a fusion surgery that only made things worse. At this point I truly believe it is a retraining of the muscles that is necessary. I am going to take your recommendations and run with it. I will keep you informed. Thanks for caring and sharing.
