I have had Atrial Fibrillation for about 13 years. I am 68 years old. My AF wasnt too bad until two years ago I forgot to tell a new dentist about it and the anesthesia he gave me made it much worse. Ive had to be shocked back about 2-3 times a year since then. I hav
[More]e had between 12-15 electro cardioversions.. However I went to Austin Heart Hospital in April of 2009 and the Dr. there put me on Flecainide and I havent had any problems since... dunno read some good and bad things on here about Flecainide.. I consider having an Ablation done some times... but havent yet. Well thats the AF part of my story!!! Update.... I had a heart ablation on July 19th 2010. As of October 1, I quit taking flecainde and as of now November 20, 2010, I am fine, no pvcs, no afib... just a real regular heart beat at about 60-65 beats per minute.... It is great!!!! Wish Id had the ablation sooner...
Claytex -- Have you had another ablation since we last emailed or before? I am very interested because I am still considering this as an option. Your result sounded so good. I am seeing my EP in the next couple of months and will discuss this with him. I would like to get off the Norpace as it is hard to get my heart rate up while exercising. I have lost 11 pounds and my sugar and bloodwork are looking good -- all after my retirement:) Hope you're well . . .
