About Me: Female, southfield, MI, member since Nov 2009
I am 32 years old, raising two girls alone (with the exception of help from my family). Off and on since i was in my teen i would get pain in my hands and arms. Not until the beginning of 2007 was I diagnosed with Fibro. For years I had asking the doctors to check me, b
[More]ecause something was wrong. In nov 2007 a small mass was found on my thymus gland and i had to have a thymectomy. I had complications and almost died. I asked my rheumy to check me again for lupus because i still was very ill, with her reluctance she did. AND GUESS WHAT!! SLE Lupus, diagnosed 4/2008. My syptoms and pain would not let up, something else was wrong, i woke up jan 2009 and thought i had a mild stroke. i had no function of my left arm/hand for 2 weeks, and after a cat scat they found the brain tumor....pituitary microademnoa. so more meds and waiting to see if it would shrink, OH and the added bonus of finding out I have secondary Adrenal Insufficiency. Waited for 6 months, and MRI showed tumor had grown 30%. So I did what needed to be done and on Oct 19th 2009 had brain surgery. Yes they went through my nose, but brain surgery is brain surgery. So to recap in the last 3 to 4 years health took a downturn, now hopefully will get a little better now the tumor is out. Well 2010 saw the development of Psoriasis, and continued mysterious health issues, April 2011 diagnosed as Type 2 Diabetic. Started taking Januvia and feeling better. Still very good days and some very bad. I take it all in stride. Just keep on Keepin ON!......
