Actually no, i dumped my pills (I was only using them to get high anyways) after the first bottle was given to me and I stopped seeing a "therapist" a week or so after i was admitted to the hospital. Ive never really liked or trusted the people, and always hated the medication, it stifled my creativity and imagination. So i've never really went to anyone.
And you would be surprised at how much even the smallest things affect people. Even the stress of not knowing a diagnosis. I think whenever you feel out of control, just do as I do and try to take a strong hold on your emotions. Just take a deep look into your mind and see whats really going on.
One last thing, it DOES seem like stress. I dont have any reason to think you are not mentally capable. I just get this vibe that you are actually saner than you think. Everyone feels vulnerable, possibly like they're going insane at times, and sometimes there imagination gets the best of them, but life can do that. Although an answer might console you,and make you feel like you have a little more control, you don't need one. Yeah, it may help with the overall confusion a bit, but it wont get to the root of the problem. I think you should listen to her; however, if you do have some communication issues it doesn't hurt to get a second option. And yes, i'm from the US, ****** place. ;P
Actually, I agree with your therapist. Even though it might be comforting to you, a diagnosis is not necessary, a "diagnosis" is just what she said, a theory. There are no tests to prove anything, the fact that people are even getting a "diagnosis" is ridiculous, people are being lumped in these very vague categories. I personally, do not consider myself "bipolar" or to have any other illness,my quirks are mine, not criteria for neurosis. Just because people are getting "diagnosed" left and right doesn't mean it really helps much, all they do is put a vague name on a vague set of problems, and medicate with prescriptions they actually know little about.
Oh, really? Im still not going to totally discount it...I cant possibly be ill. But yeah, thats pretty weird that you haven't been diagnosed or very much helped. I mean, the psychiatrists over here are so quick to diagnose and medicate. You know, you really dont need all that if you ask me, who wants to be told there crazy? However, if your feeling so troubled i think you should get a second opinion, say you want a little more help and express how your really feeling. A therapists job is just that, to be therapeutic, to provide relief.
