Are you a patient of Dr. Green? If so, what did you have done? We have Dr. Idris Gharbaoui at the Texas Orthopedic Hospital in Houston. He is supposed to be the most specialized in our surrounding area. We live in Louisiana and Houston is 3.5 hours drive. San Antonio is at least 10 - 12 hrs.. but if we had enough faith that he could do better than this doctor.. we'd go. Dr. Gharbaoui told us this is the worst shattering of the wrist that he has ever seen and he's done 1000's if not 10's of 1000's. All the bones in my husband wrists are crushed. Some have already been removed. We were trying to decide what the next surgery would be. Fusion or Artificial Wrist Replacement. Any info you could give would be appreciated.
I had my surgery done in CT, by a local hand Surgeon, in a Surgery Center. I am reluctlant to use names here.
I just came out of a cast last week and had two physical therapy sessions. Today I was within 5 degrees of my normal extension (or bending back of my wrist). So yes I can move my wirst a great deal. I only had a partial fusion.
Just a quick note to say hi!
hope your surgery went well. good luck
