Thought I would drop you a note.. sorry I haven't been on... it's been a little crazy. My son is going to have surgery on September 7, 2010. He is having a new procedure called an autologous pericardial leaflet extension. We are going to UCLA to have Dr. Hillel Laks perform the surgery.
Sorry I didn't get back to you.Sammy had Pneumonia and was in the hospital for a few days. He's out and he's fine-- but we have an appointment with his cardio on June 3rd to discuss his low "cardiovascular reserve". I guess that when you get sick your heart has a "reserve" that helps you heal faster and keeps the heart safe. With Sammy's condition he doesn't have much reserve. I guess you learn something every day!
thanks for your concern. He is doing better now, it seems that he was suffering from a bit of dehydration! when it is warm outside, he is a big water drinker. then it got cold and he drank less, but did less sport outside, except for skiing, but we kept a water bottle for him. anyway, it got warm here and he started getting active, but did not pick up the water bottle again....so he was getting dehydrated. my kids don't drink anything really but water, milk, and hot tea in the morning....so that makes it easy to miss I guess. so now all is fine, we are bettter, thank you again for your concern.
How did your son make out at the Dr.? I hope well. Lenny is doing just fine, he is enjoying this 75 degree weather. Isn't it nice to see leaves and flowers on the trees, It makes life less depressing. I haven't been on this site in a while b/c my dad has been in the hospital since March 24, so things have been alittle crazy. He is having severe respitory issues from chemo and radiation for renal cell cancer. Talk to you soon,
