This causes minor spotting / bleeding every month as long as you have your ovary or ovaries to signal the hormonal changes that induce a period. I am just having my first "period" two weeks after my hysterectomy - I kind of like knowing that things are on track and that I am not menopausal. Mine is so slight that I do not need a pad or anything - it is perhaps a couple drops. Good luck, don't worry, get better.
Hi - I saw your posting. I just had a hysterectomy as well. My doctor, who is really good, explained to me that because I had endometriosis (a condition where the lining inside the uterus that creates menstrual bleeding spreads into the abdominal cavity), it is almost impossible to remove every cell that is outside the uterus.
