About Me: Female, 43, Houston, TX, member since Jan 2010
In July 2009 I woke up with numb hands and a rapid heart beat and ended up in the emergency room where tests showed everything as normal. Later I was diagnosed by a psychiatrist with "Generalized Anxiety Disorder" (GAD) and "Panic Disorder." I was prescribed 40 mg of Pe
[More]xeva (a sister-drug to Paxil). Puzzling enough though, my "Panic Attacks" ONLY happen at night, they wake me up from my sleep. My new doctor, a Neurologist and sleep disorder specialist, recently instructed me to wean off of the meds as he finds it hard to believe that I have GAD since most people with GAD have it ANYWHERE at ANY time. Have I been misdiagnosed? I plan to do a sleep study... so we'll soon see the results....
