thanks i will ask my doctor about getting some so i will look into it more ok bye:)
Don't worry, the Dr is not suggesting taking me off any meds. If the diagnosis changes from schizophrenia to 'psychosis caused by another medical condition' I will still need the antipsychotic meds. But thanks for being concerned. Stay well :)
You are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope it works out for you re the meds causing dizziness. I saw my psychiatrist recently, and he has said that the dyskinesia has definitely decreased since taking me off one of the antipyshycotics (it took six months to come off it gradually as my Dr is so careful). So that's good news. I have decreased the vitamin E since coming of the med, as my Dr increased it during the transition. It is possible to overdose on Vit E so I'm being careful. Because I am so well mentally my Dr suspects that I don't actually have schizophrenia. I am about to be tested for Sjogren's Symdrome in a few weeks (blood test) which can cause mental symptoms. XX
Sorry about the delay in replying - I havn't checked my email notifications in some time. The only other supplement I take is a Mega Vitamin B daily. My psychiatrist has taken me off one of two antipsychotic meds I was taking, due to an increase in the dyskinesia. To determine the extent it was affecting my tongue, he told me to close my eyes and stick my tongue out as far as it would go. The end twitched noticeably as I did this. I have never been asked to do this test before and found it very interesting and helpful, because as I was coming off the med (gradually over 6 months) I was able to do the test myself, occasionally, to gauge whether the dyskinesia was abating (where my tongue was concerned at least), which it did. I hope this is helpful :D
