Another thing that helps me is a LOT of testing. You need to know how what you eat and what you do affect you and your blood sugar. My doc says that because my numbers are so good that I don't have to test more than twice a day. I see it the other way around. My numbers are good BECAUSE I test more often. Like today, "before breakfast" reading was 81, a good reading. But today after lunch it was 218, oops I had to take some cinnamon. If I had not tested, I would have never known that I had to do something.
My doc will not prescribe more than 2 strips a day, so I buy strips from ebay. At the drugstore 100 strips cost about $105. On ebay I get 100 factory sealed not expired for from $36 to 49.
Have a great day.
You asked about natural ways to control blood sugar. I was diagnosed in 1987 with type 2. I soon learned that my doctor was clueless about diabetes. Right away I tried to learn all I could. I am now 73 and my A1c is 6.1 and I think I am doing well. I attribute my success to herb supplements Cinnamon is what I think is the main element of my success. Other herbs I use are: bitter melon, gymnema sylvestre, banaba. Check these out. A good place to look is Swansonvitamins.com. I get most of my supplements from them. They have a lot of information.
