Waitandsee...I am totally with you!! I don't know that my severe constipation is due to menopause, as I had a partial hysterectomy 24 years ago, post delivery, and do not have periods. I have had blood tests even recently but this never came up. I also have anal fistulas, so I am not sure what my cause is...however, you are RIGHT: none of us ask for help if we don't first do the fiber/exercise routine first! It is MADDENING when others tell me a new fiber solution!
Just a quick note to say hi!
I just read @ your constipation problem.
I've been working with a women's health
advocate during my very difficult menopause.
She states that hormones have everything to
do with how are digestive tracts function during
menopause & hormonal imbalances in general.
I'm petite & never had a hot flash but had terrible constipation with mild to bad depression..for the constipation I used Metamucil 3x's daily plus Peppogest eneric
coated peppermint oil capsules 3x's per day..
it softened the stools, then for the depression
I went on very low dose HT, working with my OBGYN...0.25 progest... 0.25 estrogen
I'm 55 now & almost through this hormonal holocaust!...Best of luck!
