Had the bypass Jan 2008 - I had lost 100 lbs prior to and another 100 after the surgery so the whole experience has been good for me - I am over all healthy and happy.

Just a quick note to say hi! Wanted to say I have had acid reflux (no band though) for 20 years now and it is controlled by Omaprezole (UK name but they do have it in the US if you are there) it is a proton pump inhibitor (fancy med stuff) Unconrtolled acid reflux can cause scarring of the esophegeous (lining of throat etc) and can lead to cancer cells forming. It is caused by sphynctor muscle being open just slightly. Might be pressure from your band. Mine was caused by it being damaged when I was sick from preganacy for 8 months straight! It never recovered. Better to get med to get it under control to make sure you aren't suffering more permanant damage. Don't put it off hun, and best of luck to you.
