i was heavily addicted to opiates. ne pill i could get my hands on i would use. never got them prescribed to me always bought them from people. that went on for a few years b4 i realized that i actually had a problem. i went to the local clinic and got put on methadone
[More] for almost 2 years after 8 months of tappering from that i went on suboxone and finally got off of that with no problem in 3 months. after bn clean for almost 53 days i relapsed after partying in the bars. the alcohol led me right back to the pills. lets just say it brought me down real fast. i learned alot from my relapse and it has made me alot stronger and more aware of what i need to do to have my sobriety. what matters to me is, not how many clean days i have but, that i just did it for today. i count my blessings every night when i lay my head down on my pillow sober. just for today is what matters to me.
as I have never talked to you before, I wanted to say thanks for taking the time to care. Means a lot to hear powerful statements like yours. I do want to get sober and I get what you mean about only making it worse when you use. I'm sorry to hear about your friend's passing.
all good thoughts to you, Karen
