About Me: Male, 44, Greensboro, NC, member since May 2010
Well about me i always hate these things. Basically i am 39 years old my biggest problem is i have no health insurance, i have to pay cash for Dr. visits and any script. ok in my 20's when i was in the marines i had some fun. i wound up being hit and run over on my moto
[More]rcycle biggest injury a i cracked my left scapula but i was in top physical condition then. i have always worked out trained people and even trained myself for a posible chance to wrestle in the olympics. now here i am 15 years later 2 motorcycle wreck 3 bad car accidnets yes i like to drive fast my last wreck i hit a white pine head on in my 96 mustang gt i tore both labrums and rotator cuffs2 years ago when this happened. most recently in feb 2010 i woke up to excruciating pain turns out my c5 c6 c7 were ruptured so i had to come up with 4000 dollars to have the surgery, that was just my downpayment. for the past year i was under a pain mgmt agreement with my family practice doc i can afford 60 dollar visits. ok 1 month ago the neuro releases me (he says he has done all he can and i might have to get used to the pain) i think its b/c i havent made any payments since feb, how can i i am not cleared to go to work. ok so middle of march i went to family doc. my usual physician a p.a. wasnt in for the week so i was set up with another doc well he gets on me b/c he says i am not his pt ok well its not my fault your front desk made my appt anyway he looked my surgical scars maybe spent a minute total with me gave me my refill on pain meds 3 days later i get a letter stating they will no longer serve me b/c of my abuse of rx. thats total ********. obviously after pleading my case to no avail they have marked my name in whatever system they use b/c this past monday i went to see another doctor. she entered the room and b4 i could speak she said i cant help you, you are drug seeking !! i was like damn i brought all my mri's and xrays with radiologist and doc notes and my dismissal letter. well i guessed they looked me up b4 the doc came in room, and she ask is there anything else i can do for you i was like well i guess not then she has the balls to hand me a damn bill for 135 dollars, i told her good luck getting your money. i am not doctor shopping or rx shopping i would love to have 1 damn doctor to write scripts 4 me. for the last yr my old family practictioner would give me 1 refill every 30 days it was great. about the 5 th month i was informed that i would have to go to an ortho doc for my shoulders rotator and labrum tears i said ok but i had an mri on both 2 years prior and the only reason they werent fixed was b/c i lost my job. so she says ok here is your last refill i will refer u 2 an ortho wel she did and about 40-45 days later i went to see him he was like ok nothing has changed imagine that here is your bill for 300.00 i asked for a refill b/c it hads been a MONTH AND A HALF SINCE LAST ONE. ok about 60 days later i awoke to the awful pain of my ruptured discs went to see family practice doc. she gave me 30 percocets a 10 day supply. it was 3 weeks later b4 i could see the neuro doc which cost me outta pocket 500.00 had an mri and was told needed immediate surgery b/c of pain weakness getting worse and losing all feeling in the hand. ok great well here it is 21-23 days after my last visit to fam.doc so i ask neuro doc about some help with pain mgmt. he gave me cymbalta and vicodin and i tell u what i dont see what others see in vicodin i had just as well take aspirin. ok anyway i had to scamble around and come up with 4000 dollars 4 downpayment and when u r hurting as bad as i was u exhaust all means it took me a week but i got the $ and next day had surgery 2 days later he discharged me gave me a 2 week supply of percocet 2 week follow up everything looked good he said and gave me 30 5mg vicodin might as well have been tic tacs, ok so like i said you see where my path led to. now do yall think i did wrong? what did i do
