Just a quick note to say hi!
Hi, I'm still using a mandibular advancement device rather than C-Pap. Medicare and secondary insurance pay for it. We need more dentists with sleep dental specialties who will bill Medicare and learn the requirements for Medicare payment.
My bed partner and I and my pulmonologist are satisfied.
Thanks, Kat Eyes,
I am sleeping all night unless the dog decides to bark at the roadside party-people or the coyotes.
I tried a home monitor device from Canada to assess my breathing while I sleep with the Somnodent, but symptoms of a respiratory flu bug grew into bronchitis and skewed the data. I hope to get a second trial this next week.
The pulmonary group notified me of a six-month asthma wellness check due in June. I'm learning to schedule "wellness" appointments six months ahead of time. With the new pulmonary medical group, I hope to get acceptable care but they seem to be trying to do a lot with less people.

Hi, the SomnoDent device got adjusted after the sleep lab test showed OSA still evident. I had stressed out intercostals
as well until the device was adjusted to move the lower jaw forward some more. Getting my lower jaw to recede for my
usual daytime "bite" can be a challenge as my jaw joints need to flex several times. Toast for breakfast helps flex!
There is less chance for technical error with the Somnodent than with the CPAP/BIPAP. The pulmonary function test in October showed hyperinflation from the equipment maladjustments. I could not sleep and breathe with the last adjustments by the new pulmonologist and his screwy staff.

Just a quick note to say hi!
Thanks for your contact and support in the past year. The pulmonologist moved away just as the bipap finally worked. The new doc and the old partner didn't help. I have a new pulmonologist. I am now trying SomniDent to move my lower jaw forward, but the latest sleep lab shows I still have obstructive sleep apnea even though I sleep all night without snoring. When I wake, I have to stretch to fluff out my wrinkled lungs. I see the sleep dentist this week.
