Just a quick note to say hi! I wanted to welcome you to the Forum. Feel free to ask questions, post comments, or just come here to vent. Also on the top right hand side of the main page you will see a "Health Pages" bullet. Click on that and there is a lot of info on there for you as well. We also have a symptom checker, just scroll down and look on the right hand side.~Kara
Just a quick note to say hi!I'll let you know how are transition method is going and then you can decide if you want to switch over in the same way or not.I'm planning on starting her tomorrow with subing in just 1/2 a grain at first. She is on 2 &1/2 grains per day of the Nature-Throid. I will substitute in 1/2 a grain every 5 days or so (give or take depending on how she is doing) until we get her on 2&1/2 grains of the Erfa. Then we'll stay with this for 4 weeks and then test blood to see where she is at and if she needs an adjustment either up or down on the Erfa meds depending where her Freet3 and Freet4 are falling in normal range. So this is my plan, I'll let you know if it works. When you get the Erfa in, email a description of the pill so we can compair.
You're welcome! I hope it works as well for you and my daughter as it has for Stella. She says she likes it better then the original (before reformulation) Nature-Throid. She takes it subligualy (disolves under tongue), however my daughter will be swallowing hers as she's too young to stand the taste.Stella says it is very much like old Armour's formula. My daughter did well on this for 4 months before the formula change, so I am hopeful! I'm praying for a smooth transition from the original Nature-Throid to the Erfa. Stella made the same transition and did great! I'm going to substitute it in 1/2 a grain at a time every few days until I have her completly switched over so it may take a few weeks. I have to do this during the summer when schools out even though I still have 6 mo. of N.T.
Just a quick note to say hi! Just wanted to let you know that Cross Border Pharmacy is who I used to get the Erfa prescription filled. Stella5349 has been using them and done well. They get their med straight from the Erfa manufacturer and have been really reliable and easy to deal with. There are alot of middle men out there trying to profit from all this, who we need to be careful of. We want to make sure we are getting what we are paying for and not something old or counterfit. I trust Stella's opinion so we went with the same pharmacy that she did. They are out of Vancouver and their phone # is 1-888-626-0696 fax# is 1-877-251-1599. Call them and find out how the script must be written by doctor, and when you have the script call back and pay for order on credit card and fax it in.
