About Me: Female, 54, Auburn, AL, member since Oct 2010
I've had fibromyalgia since 1999 and it seems to be getting worse. Now my thyroid is low, my fingernails are paper thin and I have lost strength in my fingers. My hands ache when I bend my fingers inward. I have terrible fatigue, headaches, IBS, and my hair is falling o
[More]ut......I used to be a professional ballet dancer so I had put my body through a lot of torment, and I then ran when I retired. Now, I don't have any energy to exercise which is totally not me......I was diagnosed with Addison's Disease in February and since then I have not really felt well. Always terribly fatigued, nauseous, terrible stomach aches and now have severe constipation. The steroids make my mind race and interrupt a lot, and talk loud so that I'm not myself anymore. Terrible sensitive to heat and cold. Foods don't taste like they used to and I can't stay hydrated even though I drink a lot and put salt on everything which is par for the course with Addisons. Why do some people function fine with Addison's and I am having such a difficult time? My lab results always come back low or high and shows there is still an imbalance. I see an endocrinologist but am very frustrated!
