About Me: Female, 46, Parksley, VA, member since Aug 2006
I have been steroid dependent for almost 20 years, which has resulted in other health issues, like Cushings, osteoperosis, steroid psychosis...pretty much any adverse condition/ reaction I have it or have had it, including some that even the Doctors don't know what to d
[More]o. I am 40 years old and my asthma is out of control, I live in a very rural area so there is no such thing as competent medical care...
I am in the top 1% of worst case scenarios when it comes to what type(s) of asthma I have.
I am currently seeing a P.A, not even a doctor because in the last five years every doc I have seen has made the condition worse...
When I moved to VA 6 years ago, I was on 5mgs of prednisone a day, and I weighed 60lbs less than I do now. Through the incompetence of the medical professionals here my disease is running out of control and I currently am at 40mg a day of pred., down from 80mgs for the last 6 months!!!
my health has deteriorated to such a point as I am barely functional, yet the medical professionals I seek for help do more harm than good, and I end up telling THEM how to treat me!!! I am so far passed frustrated and disgusted I can barely stand it.
Prednisone has ruined my life and the medical professionals have done more harm than good.
You are in my thoughts and prayers. I might be the 37 year old you mention in your question. I don't live out in the boonies but I might as well. I take the bus, and with headaches it's hard. But, your headaches sound like mine. even, the fact that they are worse in the morning and night. I've been doing a lot of research and decided to try something, I drink 8 glasses of water a day. I have to drink one every hour, because I end up peeing it all out. And, I notice when I stop the water the headaches get worse. I have a dr apt Wed. I hope you find answers. You might already drink a lot of water but give it a try. If you drink decaffeinated drinks you need to drink more, and since you hurt more in the morning., drink 1 or 2 glasses when you wake up. Let me know.
