[More]t a full Colostomy and a life expectancy of 20-25 years, I chose to endure the pain, go on Prednisone / Sulfa drugs, and look to the future. 20 years later I was forced to have a Double Bowel Resection, removing the worst areas but leaving the rest intact. As a result of being stubborn I was able to literally double my life expectancy as I am now coming up on 50 years of age.
