HHV-6 is the only one I know of where the virus is not longer found in the blood. In the brain - some would attribute cognitive impairment which frequently accompanies chronic viral infection.
As I understand it: EGG way high and EGM low indicates a chronic infection (Some Infectious Disease docs can’t figure that one out).
You may also have co-infections. The two most popular are CMV and HHV-6. You’ll need to get the antibodies for those tested also. Don’t get a PCR test for HHV-6. It tests for virus protein in the blood – not antibodies. In chronic infections the virus are no longer in the blood –they’ve moved to the brain. But the antibodies will still be in the blood.
Just a quick note to say hi!
