I have the same problem. I had it as a teen, it went away for years and is now back with a vengeance. Sometimes I feel like I am just going to bust out in tears. I recently started using essential oils, mixed some peppermint with my lotion and that worked for about a week. Then I bought some aveeno for eczema and mixed in some coconut & lavender oils with that and it has helped tremendously. I apply it as soon as I step out of the shower. My dermatologist told me it was hives and suggested Zyrtec which I will take, along with the essential oil lotion that I made. Maybe this could help you too:)
I dont know if you still check this, but I was hoping to find out what you did to help this? I have the same problem. The itch is so bad and gets worse as the day goes on. I am constantly getting showers then putting lotion all over to try and stop the itch. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!
went 22 years without an answer and many doctors saying "you have sensitive skin" I changed soaps, detergents diet you name it. The only thing that worked for me was Ice...and benedryl but I cant always be falling asleep! I used to only shower at night so I could dope myself up. I bought ice packs and rub them on my legs, after about 20 min it really helped. But its not always convenient. One day someone who had gotten hives, told me that Pepcid AC worked for them. I thought she was CRAZY but i was desperate. I tried it and 15 min later my legs stopped itching! now i take allegra or a non drowsy allergy pill and that almost always stops and itch attack before it starts.
Nicki, my name is Nicki as well! I have had what I call "itch attacks" for the last 22 years. I am 25yrs old and lived in AK, CO,FL and CA and the change in weather doesnt help my skin. It started when i went swimming in Hawaii when I was 3. Ever since then, water seems to be the culprit. Ocean, pool, shower, (baths less frequent itch attacks) even when it rains. My legs have no rash and I itch to the point of wanting to cut my legs off.
