:) Spoon, finger, or cup feeding can be done from birth. I do it for babies that are less than an hour old. This is done by sitting a baby upright, supporting their head and slightly tilting back the spoon or cup against their bottom lip and letting them use their tongue to regulate the feeding. Finger feeding is done using an SNS. The tube is led down to a clean, trimmed finger w/ nail bed facing down. The finger is inserted in the baby's mouth where the soft and hard palate meet.
It's definitely hard 4 some babies 2 accept the bottle. Sounds like ur baby has nipple confusion, the good kind. It's harder 4 moms 2 cope w/ breast refusal than bottle refusal, unfortunately both can B frustrating. lol I’m dealing w/ the same thing. My son has never taken a bottle or paci. He is 11 months & I’m thankful @ this point since I don’t have 2 wean him from the bottle, but when he was younger it was extremely frustrating as I returned 2 work FT 1 week PP. He was first finger fed, then cup fed & has been since. Finger feeding takes skill & trust from the individual watching ur child, but cup feeding can B done from birth by anyone. Have u ever spoon or cup fed? How do u feel about it?
I hear ya about time. It's tough watching it fly by.
Congratulations! Time for a celebration...<3 she's adorable!
