Just a quick note to say hi! My mum has Type 1 diabeties and has since she was 5 and is now 76 going on 77. She is amazing! She will be receiving a medal from the diabeties assoc. for this achievement soon. I am wanting to find a paper where I can have published her story I think it is newsworthy and encouraging.
Just a quick note to say hi! I read your history with interest. I have been diabetic for 50 years now...I am 59. I had a heart attack 11 years ago and had 2 stents put in...good until now.. I need another one. it will be done in 2 weeks. This time I caught it myself..was not a heart attack. other than that I have been fairly healthy. I am self-employed and play trumpet in 3 bands so I am out 3 nights a week for 2 1/2 hours. I agree with you that back in the "old" days it seemed like the dark ages compared to the technology available today. I try to eat well and stay active, altho I am not an exercise fanatic. I recently switched to Lantus insulin and find it very stable compared to the Humalin NPH insulin. Ray in Brampton Ontario.
