Hi, my name is Sue
I am married and have 3 great kids.
Life took a ter
[More]rible turn when I was 29 and pregnant with my third child. I couldn't walk and had to crawl aroung the house. It was so difficult, I couldn't pick up my children.
I was in chronic pain and diagnosed with grade C spondylolisthesis.L5 and L4 had slipped 75% forward. This is before we had a computer and had to go to a medical library to understand what was going on. lol !!
I have had 2 back surgeries, and have tried every drug known to mankind!!! I've also tried massage, yoga, meditation, accupuncture ect.
Life certainly ***** living in chronic pain 24/7. Over the last 6 years I have been attending a pain clinic I've tried everything. Morphine was the only drug I could tollerate and now I've been on it for 4 years, it has lost it's appeal since I have so many side effects.
Morphine makes me sleep my life away, and when i'm up it fools me into thinking i need to take more by making me go into cold sweats, dizziness, extreme constipation and the inability to think or concentrate anymore. It takes all my energy just to have a shower and get dressed!!! That seems to be my big accomplishment for the day!
I am now off morphine, and have being managing my pain with Ultram, (Tramadol) and medical marijuana. I am doing ok right now, I find the summer months and weather help my mood and my pain levels. Sue
Just a quick note to say hi!..hope you are hanging in! Chronic pain is a bummer! I am off opiates..only take if I have severe nerve pain..I went off of lyrica..took 9 months..and I feel better..I was diagnosed with autonomic neuropathy..It affects nerves all over the body..I have a hard time breathing and chest pain but it is not COPD or angina..nerves are screwed up..so I try to manage..but I am still very weak...but my meds now are synthroid.....take care!
Thank you for your warm welcome to the Chronic Pain Couch. You're right. It is good to have another Ontarian
on Medhelp. I have a lot of pain in my neck from two car accidents I have been in.. I was rear ended twice within three years, neither time my fault. According to an x-ray which was taken, I now have arthritis in my neck. Oh well, what are
you going to do. It is my mom who has chronic back pain as a result of a very bad fall a number of years ago now.
What caused your chronic back pain if you don't mind me asking ? Any kind of chronic pain is horrible. I know though
there are degrees of pain. I happily accept your friendship invitation. Take good care. Blessings, Eve

I had lumbar nerves cut by radiofrequency ablation 2months ago and that has helped ..I had opiate hyperalgesia..per my gastro dr. so I am going down and adj. other meds too..why back prob?
