Have you have your son tested for parasites? I know that sounds a little off, but it is clearly one of the most commonly misdiagnosed conditions. My daughter developed pinworms and her symptoms sound alot like your sounds. We went around the world for over a month, until one night she was up late watching tv and felt her butt itching. I checked her and actuall saw the worm. I almost passed out. Needless to say, that night I ran to the drugstore and gave her medication called Pin-X and treated the entire family. She hasn't had any problems since. Its a one dose treatment and she was back to normal in less than 24 hours. I gave her a second round of it again two weeks later. So if I see that raise its ugly head again. I know what to do. I hope this helps.
