Yes, things are better....thanks for asking! We've had about a week of good, but last night she was crying and screaming a couple of times. I asked her about this morning, and she didn't remember it, so I'm thinking it was night terrors or confusional arousals (something we're pretty use to now during the 1st 4 hours of the night). Our nightmare problems were happening during the last part of the night...and that seems to be cleared up....I hope, I hope.
Gosh, it sounds like you're having a rough patch now too. I agree...childhood is worse for the parents. Luckily our little ones will probably have little to no recollection of these trials we go through with them. We may never forget however. :o)
Hang in there...thank goodness teething does pass.
Aha...good to know that it can take awhile. Makes me feel so much better. And yes, I agree, it probably is testing. My daughter is a master of that. When this all started, I kept trying something new every few days and she's worm her way around it. I kept a timeline of it, and when I looked back, I was amazed at how she'd manipulated us. Smart cookie! :o)
It's been tough, but we have not given in. The door remains closed, and we ignore her requests. And they do seem fewer than in the past. So that's good news.
Thanks again for posting your sleep ideas and being a strong mommy!
Thanks again for your sleep advice (closing the door). We did it about 12 days ago, and immediately had 6 nights of peace. I thought it was a miracle. However it was short-lived, and she's been waking and crying every night for the last 6 nights. Sometimes we hear "let me out of here". I'm hoping that because she's four, she's just being resistant and that this will pass, eventually.
Do you remember how long it took for your 3 1/2 year old to adjust to the door closing?
Thanks again!
Just a quick note to say hi! Thanks for the invite! And again, thank you for being so honest and forthright in your comments on sleeping issues. It's nice to know I'm not alone and that the measures we are taking are necessary for some kids personality types. Look forward to getting to know you! Amanda
