About Me: Male, 62, New Bern, NC, member since Jan 2007
Diagnosed in 2003, started my 48 week journey in 2006, relapsed three months after completing treatment 2007. Life is good though. The old adage about turning lemons into lemonade certainly holds true for me. My life slowed considerably during my ordeal. Slow enough to
[More] take in what I've missed in the past. Slow enough to reach out and hold what had eluded me for all those years. Slow enough to watch a sunrise, or hummingbird wings, or grandchildren grow. I've learned so much about me during that time and there's not a day that goes by that I don't stop for a few minutes and take in my surroundings, and give a silent thanks. For me, the next battle with the dragon can wait. I've got time. For those others? Have some lemonade, and sit awhile.
Thanks for the heads up! I've been out of town for many weeks and am not around the forum much. I think I got it in the Army, but I have other more probable risk factors, so I am not going to press the issue with the VA. I am really happy for you and hope you make a full recovery eventually. - Brent
