On the regular side of life: Been married to my "peanut" (yeah, corney) for almost 20 years. Although many of you have heard the darker sides lately of this relationship, I know we are strong and with some soul searching counseling, we will make it. We have been through tremendous emotional, sickness, and financial crisis more than a couple can cope with alone, more recenlty within the past five years. The fallout of 9/11 almost ruined my husband's company, however, basically ruined us financially. The company is coming back strong finally and we will too! We both were very sweet and kind people who met, fell in love and married within a year; it was just that easy back then. Alot of marriages would not have lasted but we both know we are meant to be and we will get back to those people again, only stronger and wiser. He really, really loves me and I him. AND, we have the utmost trust; it has been tested and it works! I can't wait to get back to making mad love to this man!
I worked as an executive secretary in downtown Chicago for almost ten years until having my first child. Loved the excitement of working downtown, but raising our children with a parent at home was more important to us. It was a sacrifice on many things, but well worth it for our kids we felt. I have throughout the years worked at home processing payroll and doing secretarial work from home. I have recently resigned from most of that except my husband's company (do at home) so I can't wait to get better and run this household and my children's life as I want. Working from home has its benefits and would have been great even more with the two older girls, but then along came Gracie and it's just too hard now - so more sacrifice, but well worth it, again. I will work again in the future. I have a knack for getting back into the groove quite fast.
We have three beautiful girls - ages 16, 11 and almost 3 years (yeah, an oops, but one we could not imagine without): Claire, Madeline, and Grace. Our two older girls are quite the equestrians and our 16 year old is competing in her first A-rated jumpers show in St. Louis this April with the love of HER life - a horse named Blue (a beautifully, full of himself thoroughbread). She's probably the best teenager around (grades could be better), but is true and honest and a good girl (crossing my fingers, legs, etc.). She wants to excel at this and is pursuing a college with equestion at the top of the list! My 11 year old also is a jumper and has found the perfect "pony" (rather large pony) for her showing season coming up. This girl has ambition and determination and although she loves the equestrian life, she has other interests so we'll see. She gets mad at me when I recognize those other interests and try to pull them out of her b/c she demands that she wants to follow in her sister's footsteps - whatever she wants to do is my motto as long as it's worthwhile for her. She's a momma's girl, but I think as she enters teenager years, she may stray a bit more than the older one so I have to be more on my toes with her, I believe.
And, my 2 year old; also has the early interests of equestrian and my other girls are jealous that she'll get the experience long before they did. She is, in her own two year old way, the light of our lives, as you can imagine a two year old might be. What a riot she is and so smart!
So that's my life in a brief summary; basically very happy, just have to get back to the basics and simplicity of life.
Oh, lastly, my "hatgal" sign-on hails from my favorite band ever that first came to our restaurant/bar and I fell in love with them (yeah, the guys that perform aren't bad either - LOL). They still come regularly every few months or so and I just look so forward to it. They are called "The Hat Guys" and I became a "Hatgal". Wonderful upbeat dancing band that just brings out the life in me!
That's it................. Thanks for taking the time to read!
