I am a non-smoker, non-drug user (except all these drugs the doctors give me that do not do a thing for my chronic cough) oh yeah, non-drinker too. Maybe I should take it up since I have symptoms of a smoker LOL. I get stuffy when I smell peoples cigarette / cigar smo
[More]ke so that mean I do NOT even date anyone who smokes either, I don't even have friends that smoke, sorry smoker! If there isn't a health benefit I don't do it. Okay, sugar, love my sugar! LOL
Just a quick note to say I had a cough for 9 yrs at least. Started out mild at first. Got bad enough 3 yrs ago that I went to doc. Was diagnost with all the usual symptoms and treatments. Some worked slightly. Long story short it took a med called GAPENTIN. To take care of my cough. I have been on gabapentin for 12 dys now and been able to sleep through the night
7 of those dys. I used to cough about every 2hrs through the night. And quite often during the day. GABAPENTIN is an epilepsy med. sounds strange but so far it's working I do not have chronic coughs any longer I do still cough once in awhile to get rid phlegm. The diagnosos was to this effect. raw nerve endings in the throat. There is a lot more to this story but this was the cure for me. Good luck. Lee
I have had the urge to cough while sitting or standing up for the last 3 months. 20 minutes after I go to bed I am fine. Starts the next day coming out of the bed. My doctor is quite confused. Any idea what it is? Have you been able to treat yours?
Hey HelpinLA.just came across your post now about undiagnosed cough.have had mine for over ten years and it is really irritating.my husband thinks I am hiding a chronic ailment from him.here is my email ***@**** contact me
Have you found a solution to your coughing problem? I live in Texas and have had the same symptoms as you for over 10 yrs. I've never smoked in my life. Don't cough while lying down, but as soon as I get up or eat or drink anything, I start coughing. Docs have prescribed asthma meds, allergy meds and acid reflux meds over the years, but none really seem to make much of a difference. I usually get this cough around spring and fall months. The cough will last for 3-4 months at a time. I've been tested for allergies, but negative to all tests. So frustrating.
