I have had the same problem since I was small, and my mother had the same problem. I saw an excellent ear doctor when I lived in Florida. After having suffered with this for years, he told me it was a yeast infection, and was a chronic condition. He cleaned out my ears, prescribed Elocon drops, and sent me to his clinic next door where they ran allergy testing and made a serum giving me allergy shots. For the first time in my life I felt relief like never before. If I had stayed in Florida, I would have continued the shots. This was a cure, I had 2 shots and had no symptoms or problems for nearly a year! He had told me if I continue them I would feel permanent relief. Good L>uck!
I have never had my inner ear issue diagnosed, but it sounds very similar to what you have described. Both of my ears have the problem, and it is very painful where they crust up, usually near the opening of my ear canals. They usually begin with the itching in the canal area, and if I itch them at all, then the leaking fluid starts, which then crusts over, or results in a lot of skin flaking. Eventually, it does crust over, and trying to dislodge the crust, is very painful. I haven't tried any meds to help with it. I would try the creams or ointments talked about by several people.
I have had the EXACT same symptoms you describe for years.I've been through the antibiotics/steroid creams and drops. Comes right back. Still looking for resolution.
Hello,
I have had ecezma for five years in my right ear. I too use steriods to clear up the flaking and iching followed by Ciprofloxacn for the infection. Do you know how to stop the episodes? Do you really think it comes from an allergy? Do you know of any cure? I also have syptoms more days than not. Please respond to ***@****.
Sincerely,
Vicki
