About Me: Female, 29, Anderson, CA, member since Jan 2012
STDs are fascinating to me.. especially the viruses. I had an active high-risk HPV infection for four straight years and after educating myself and making a few changes I have had normal checkups since 2009 (I won! :)
I know there are people out there who are going through the same thing.. and also worse than I have gone through. I think it's important to understand that this is not the end of your life.. it is a learning experience and you can grow (for the better) from it. And also to know that you truly are not alone.
The stigma surrounding HPV and HSV is ridiculous.. once you learn how common these viruses are.
I feel that stress is the #1 thief of time and of opportunities.. it is all about the attitude with which you face the day.. every day. Happiness is not something some lucky few are blessed with, rather it is a choice we all have. We make that choice daily whether we realize it or not.
