Diagnosed with Hashimoto's Toxicosis.
TPO antibodies in the 1,200 range.
Adrenal tumor, benign.
Been flipping from hypo to hyper to hypo to hyper since early 2006. Hyperthyroid most of the time now.
Been on Methimazole and Synthroid since August 2006. Waiting to see a new endo for second opinion and further probing. My GP thinks multiple organs are not cooperating.
update 7/20
Got second opinion. RAI recommended. First taken off Synthroid, then taken off of Methimazole. Now I am severly hypothyroid and am waiting for RAI to nuke my thyroid and put an end to this madness. :(
update 9/22
Back on Synthroid. Going from Hypo to Hyper. Endo and I need to talk. Treatment back up in the air.
update 10/20
Haven't worked all month. Won't be anytime soon. GP looking for new Endo and ENT surgeon. No progress. Spent overnight in hospital. Still going up and down. Been back off and back on Synthroid again. Everything is going in circles.
Update 12/11
Back to waiting for RAI. Haven't been taken off Synthroid yet. Waiting for a phone call from another doctor (about the RAI). Surgeon charged me $291 to tell me I didn't need surgery. It's like watching paint dry. :(
NOTHING is happening.
Update 1/28
Had RAI on 1/18
Haven't slept much since.
Update 8/22
Levels are not bad. Saw the Endo this week. Changed my dosage, for the third time in four months. Switched from Synthroid to Levoxyl. Am feeling better now but have been hyper and hypo a few times. Can be active a few hours a day but not able to work.
Closed my business. :-/
Interests: Only interested in getting better. :)
