About Me: Female, 54, England, United Kingdom, member since Jun 2007
I'm a 46 year old Mother of a fantastic 4,1/2 yearold Daughter, & thankfully Married to a great guy, who has managed to rolll with the changes.
Up until about 3,1/2 years ago, though I did suffer with some health problems, I was still a very active, & loved my carreer & nothing really stopped me from living my life to the full. That all changed when my Daughter was about 6 months old, I was later diagnosed with Fibromyalgia.
Unfortunately this diagnososis has meant its often difficult for me to get my GP to take any other medical problems seriously, especially chronic infections. (Sinus & kidney)
I had previous ongoing problems with both, & though I hate taking antibiotics, as I wonder if the 9 lots I was given over a 6 month period to clear a sinus infection, just prior to getting very ill, are in part responsible for my now disabled status, I do hoever understand they are important when dealing with infections, so aviod them as I can, but take them when needed.
I'm often left feeling like a hypochondriac, despite rarely complaining about daily pain & exhaustion, I dont see a lot of point in wasting the Drs time with Fibromyalgia symptoms, as I understand there isn't much they can do, & if specialists dont yet fully understand it,m then I'm expecting a lot of a GP. So I find it very frustrating not to be listened to when I do go to see my GP for other things, hence why I have joined this forum, in the hope of been able to visit my GP, better armed with the correct info, as I'm sure they think i'm nuts when I tell them I can FEEL the infection???? lol
Interests: Fibromyalgia & Similar conditions, Chronic Sinusitis,
