A few years ago i was diagnosed with ADD (attention deficit disorder) although it's similar to ADHD it's not the same thing. I was diagnosed very late in life and I struggle to learn and gain skills other childeren learned while i was unable to focus, follow directions,
[More] or organize anything. Even though every day is a struggle that, because of the extra effort i have to put in to focus, i believe that my ADD is not something I'm fighting against, rather a part of me that i must learn to cooporate with and incorporated into my life.
Another huge part of my life that developed is that my brother was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL) he was ten when he was diagnosed and is currently eleven. i can't even begin to explain what that news felt like to recieve, but the closest thing i can think to compare it with is to have you imagine what it would feel to have the sun smash into you at the speed of light ten bagillion times, and even that doesn't even begin to compare! it's a two and a half year treatment and let me tell you, it's tuff! not only for my brother but for my whole family. my brother like me likes to look at the posative side of things though. I like to step back and look at good things that came out of this. he's my lil trooper and even when he's in the hospital and can't eat or stay awake for more than a few minutes he is always trying to entertain us and make us laugh like the silly comedian he is.
As of right now i'm only a freshman in high school and unfortunately have to go through all of the stress that comes with that too. My day to day goal is to spread my optamism to anybody and everybody, especially my family. What i go through every day, just to put it simply, *****!!!
