Look up S.I Dysfunction and iliolumbar ligament. I was also diagnosed with bulging L5-S1. Many people have this but in most cases it does not cause any issues. It took me months to figure it out even with doctors telling me otherwise and now I am almost fully recovered.

Hope you felt better. i have read your story on leg pain due to L5/LS disc bulge, posted in 2007. I have a similar problem with excruciating pain in my right leg and low back pain, now for over two years. but it getting worse, i was hospital for a month this year.
